Neighbourhood

Our house is located in Fonyódliget, the eastern recreational area of Fonyód, Hungary.

Fonyódliget is a peaceful holiday spot on the southern shore of Lake Balaton — ideal for families, couples, and anyone seeking an active vacation or pure relaxation. The area offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as running, cycling, windsurfing, swimming, and fishing — there’s something for everyone here.

From Fonyód and from BeachFront Villa Balaton, you can enjoy one of the most stunning views of the majestic Badacsony, especially in the evenings when the sun spectacularly sets behind the volcanic hills to the north. The sunsets here are a true natural spectacle — perfect for romantic evenings by the lakeside.

Fonyód also features a charming weekly market with local products, cozy restaurants, and a marina with boat connections around Lake Balaton. Thanks to its central location, Fonyód is an excellent starting point to explore Lake Balaton and its surroundings.

How to reach our address in Fonyód?

Our little cottage is located directly on the southern shore of Lake Balaton. There are several ways to get here:

By car:

Fonyód is easily accessible via the M7 motorway. From Budapest, the drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Árpád part street runs parallel to Lake Balaton.

By train:

There are regular train connections between Budapest Déli pályaudvar (Southern Railway Station) and Fonyód. The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the connection. From Fonyód station, you can reach Árpád part 4 either on foot (about 15–20 minutes) or by taxi.

By bus:

Long-distance buses also run from Budapest and other Hungarian cities to Fonyód. The bus stops are generally located near the town center.

By bicycle:

Fonyód is a bike-friendly town with direct access to the Balaton Bike Trail. Árpád part street is particularly easy to reach as it lies directly along the lakeshore.
